Wellsville Central Schools Announces Superintendent David Foster's Resignation

Wellsville, NY – The Wellsville Central School District is announcing the resignation of Superintendent David Foster, effective August 26, 2024. Mr. Foster, who has served as Superintendent since 2017, will leave to become Superintendent of Cattaraugus Little Valley Schools and rejoin his family in that area.
During his tenure, Mr. Foster led significant initiatives, including establishing a STEAM Center, financing a 1:1 student computer pairing program, and guiding the district through the COVID crisis. His earlier roles included Director of Finance and Operations, where he initiated a financial turnaround for the District while beginning an over 10-year span of either lowering or keeping taxes flat. He was also the Assistant Principal of the high school and taught science at both the middle and high schools.
Mr. Foster has also been active in the Wellsville community, notably serving as President and Treasurer of the Wellsville Lion’s Club. The Board of Education expresses deep gratitude for his service and will begin the search for his successor immediately. Further details on the search process will be shared with the community soon.
