Eclipse Closure on April 8, 2024 In the interest of safety, Legislative Board Chairman W. Brooke Harris and County Administrator Carissa Knapp determined that Allegany County Government Offices and non-essential services will close from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024, due to the solar eclipse. Services essential to Public Safety will remain operational, and normal business hours will resume on April 9.
