Nathan Miller of Wellsville is headed to prison. The county DA’S office reports that during a court appearance Monday that Nathan M. Miller was sentenced to 2 ½ years in State Prison, to be followed by 4 years of Post-Release Supervision in Allegany County Court after previously pleading guilty to Attempted Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree. A 10-year Order of Protection was also issued in favor of the victim. Upon his release from prison, Miller will be required to register as a sex offender. Miller was prosecuted by ADA Jake D. Rood and he was defended by Steven Sessler.

In county court Monday, Matthew J. Saunders of Wellsville, was convicted of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class “A-II” Felony. Saunders is scheduled for sentencing on June 5, 2024, where he will be sentenced to 4 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post-Release Supervision. Jake Rood prosecuted and Mark Overall was the defense attorney.

Proceedings: Francesa Maiden was in Allegany County Court on
Tuesday afternoon for two separate cases. The first was a violation of
probation, and the second an alleged burglary involving property theft. Maiden
was sentenced to 9 months of incarceration in the Allegany County Jail for the
probation violation in the first case. In the second case, Maiden pled guilty
to Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree and was sentenced to the maximum term of
1 consecutive year in the Allegany County Jail. Additionally, she was ordered
to pay restitution to the victim.
