News Release: Newly Updated COVID-19 Guidance
As the threat from COVID-19 becomes more similar to that of other common respiratory viruses, the Centers for Disease Control has issued Respiratory Virus Guidance, rather than guidance specific to each virus type. This brings a unified, practical approach to addressing risk from a range of common respiratory viral illnesses. Following the updated CDC recommendations, the New York State Department of Health has revised its guidance to again align with the CDC guidance for when to stay home and when individuals can return to normal activities after respiratory infections including COVID-19, influenza, and RSV. The new guidance can be found at this website:

Healthcare facilities should continue to follow the CDC’s guidance that is specific to Healthcare Personnel.
