Don enjoyed making knives out of buck antlers and was an
avid deer and turkey hunter.
Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Donald
Ellwood Jr. of Arcade, Richard (Celeste) Ellwood of Nebraska, Tina (Scott)
Fitzgerald of Castile, several grandchildren including two special
grandchildren, Carissa Johnson of Castile and Michael Strathearn of Hornell,
several great-grandchildren including three special great-grandchildren, Jacob
Poler, Noah Strathearn, Lucretia Strathearn, a brother, Dwight Ellwood of
Wiscoy and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother,
Robert Ellwood.
Burial will be in Wiscoy Cemetery, Wiscoy.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. Memorials if
desired to: 4-H Club of the donor’s choice.
