Alma: Town Board to begin paying Highway Superintendent, again

The ongoing dispute between the Alma Town Board and its Highway Superintendent, Dan Ford, is slowly being resolved...at least financially. The Alma Council met Wednesday evening. Supervisor Ronald Staedt told WRN that the town was complying with a judge's order and had sent "a check" via priority mail to Ford. The town stopped paying the elected highway leader late last year when a multi-faceted controversy erupted. The two sides ended up in court recently and Staedt said, on the direction of an attorney, the town had sent 'a payment'. He didn't indicate if the check was for partial or full back wages. The dispute remains under judicial review and oversight.
