One of Cattaraugus and Allegany counties’ major educational leaders has departed for a Central New York school district.

BOCES Superintendent Lynda Quick began her tenure as Skaneateles
Central School District superintendent this week, ending her 24-year
career with CA BOCES. Dr. Lynn Fusco, superintendent of Erie 1 BOCES,
will oversee CA BOCES in the interim.
“It’s
bittersweet because I feel strongly about the BOCES and the work that
we do there,” Quick told the Olean Times Herald Friday, “but I think the
BOCES is in good stead at this point and they’re in a good place moving
forward.”
Quick,
a Portville native, began at CA BOCES in 1994 as an attorney/labor
relations specialist. She was appointed assistant superintendent in 2003
— a role she served for 10 years before being promoted to
