Houghton College Named to Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education List

HOUGHTON, NY – Houghton College was recently included in The Wall Street Journal/ Times Higher Education 2019 College Ranking as 209th of nearly 1,000 higher education institutions in the nation.
Of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) member schools, Houghton was ranked third among 63 colleges on the list. Additionally, Houghton also ranked as second among eight schools included from Western New York Consortium of Higher Education. This report includes small private schools as well as large public institutions and prestigious Ivy League schools.
The ranking draws on data from multiple areas, including amount spent on teaching per student, student-faculty ratio, scholarly research publications by faculty, college support of student critical thinking and real-world application, opportunities for faculty-student interaction, student recommendations, breadth of courses offered, graduation rates, value-added salary, value-added loan default rate, academic reputation, and diversity.
