Steuben Legislators to consider CR 119 funds

BATH – Plans for the reconstruction of a Steuben County bridge in 2021 are continuing, with the County Legislature expected to agree Monday to pay for the consultant design of an overhaul of the County Road 119 bridge in the Town of Cameron. The bridge design agreement is among the agenda items for the County Legislature’s consideration when it meets in regular session at 10 a.m. Monday in the County Office Building, 3 E. Pulteney Square, Bath. The County Road 119 Bridge is on a well-travelled route, crossing the Canisteo River and connecting the towns of Canisteo, Rathbone, Bath, Jasper and Woodhull. The design and ultimately the construction will be paid for through the federal aid program, consisting of an 80 percent federal share, 15 percent state Marchiselli share and a 5 percent local, Steuben County, share. The total project is expected to cost approximately $4.6 million, with Steuben’s share pegged at $230,000. Other agenda items include:

· Accepting a 2018 State Homeland Security Program Grant of $129,963, with 75 percent of the grant assigned to the county Office of Emergency Services and the remaining 25 percent used by the county Sheriff’s Department
· Appropriating $75,000 from the county Contingent Fund to the Steuben County Soil & Water Conservation District for the streambank stabilization program.
· Renaming the Cohocton Shop Capital Project the “Rebuild Cohocton Shop” project. · Upgrading of the Machinery Shop Supervisor position within the Public Works Department from Grade XIII to Grade XV.
· Authorizing the Director of Weights & Measures to enter into an Inter-Municipal Agreement with Wyoming County.
 · Authorizing an amendment to the Emergency Management Inter-Municipal Agreement with the Village of Cohocton.
· Authorizing an Inter-municipal Agreement for exploring detention facilities and services for compliance with state “Raise the Age ” legislation.
