Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission at the Bath National Cemetery is to Remember, Honor and Teach about our area service men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice— their lives — to keep our country free and safe. It is an event that helps us to never forget that the freedoms we enjoy came at such a great cost. Placing of the wreaths begins immediately following the noon (12:00 p.m. sharp) ceremony. This year’s theme is BE THEIR WITNESS.
Wreaths Across America (WAA) is carried out with coordinated wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and over 1,400 locations in all 50 US states, including the Bath National Cemetery at the Bath VA Medical Center.
In 2017, over 3,200 wreaths were laid in Bath. Our goal this year is 5,000 wreaths. Will you join us this year by donating and, if possible, participating in the wreath laying event on December 15th? A single wreath is only $15 and is tax deductible. There is also our “3-for-2 program”, the “family” level (4 wreaths), the “small business” level (10 wreaths) and the “corporate” level (100 wreaths). Please support this great cause by donating on-line at www.WreathsAcrossAmerica-BathNY.org no later than November 26th or use the form on the reverse side. Be sure to indicate the Fundraising Group ID (this can be found at the above web address under the “Groups” drop down menu.
If you would like to volunteer to participate in the wreath laying ceremony, please visit the above website and follow the directions. For additional information about WAA, visit the national website at www.WreathsAcrossAmerica.org. Please note that there will be no placing of grave-specific wreaths. Thank you so much for supporting the 2018 WAA!
