Sheriff Whitney has done a great job and will continue to do so. He is a good leader and has the best interest of Allegany County in mind and supports our community at large. He has generated money by housing in inmates and the jail has passed inspections by many agencies, both state and federal. It seems like the Sheriff’s Office supports the community and most of what we have heard over the past several years is nothing but good, yet NOW I hear that he is not doing a good job.
Well, if you look at who is actively supporting the idea of
a new sheriff you find a group of disgruntled ex-employees and a legislator
that not only retired from the Sheriff’s Office in disgrace and cost the
taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in a sexual harassment settlement.
I also think it a bit hypocritical that Sheriff Whitney’s
opponent would say anything about his commitment to this community when he has
spent much of his career outside of it.
Look at his endorsements. Out of
county individuals that say he is a good guy, THAT'S IT. Who knows who he is in Allegany County? To talk about abuse of overtime when he
clearly abused overtime making 165% of his yearly salary to pad his
retirement. It is also puzzling that he
talks about mandated shifts at the Sheriff’s Office. Are there no mandated shifts with the New
York State Troopers?
Character counts and the people you surround yourself with
can help define who and what you are.
Sheriff Whitney’s opponent has surrounded himself with disgruntled
ex-employees who did not get their way when working there and are now
bitter. The bitterness stems from the
bullying tactics used by them did not work.
You should not seek a public office due to boredom from your padded
retirement years. Character counts, and
I have heard when Mr. Mackney oversaw the drug task force he was rarely in the
office. He bullied and maligned those
that worked there, authorized overtime, and all this with no attention to
fiscal responsibility.
Sheriff Rick Whitney chose to work and serve his entire
career in Allegany County. He supports
our communities volunteering his time through the Lions Club and other local
organizations. He has 43 years of
continuous service to our County and all the communities that encompass it.
PLEASE VOTE FOR SHERIFF RICK WHITNEY ON SEPTEMBER 13TH
LETS KEEP OUR SHERIFF’S OFFICE FULL OF INTEGRITY!!!!!!!!!!!
