Obituary: Robert V. Waltz, 78, West Clarksville

WEST CLARKSVILLE — Robert V. Waltz, of 9804 Hewitt Road, passed away Wednesday (Aug. 1, 2018) in Buffalo General Hospital, after a recent illness. Born July 14, 1940, in Garrettsville, Ohio, he was the son of Lloyd and Maude McDivict Waltz. On July 9, 1977, in Tonawanda, he married Vivian R. Nabuzny, who survives. Bob was a longtime resident of North Tonawanda. He was a member of the United Automobile Workers Union 686 in Lockport and he worked for Harrison Radiator Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He and his wife moved to West Clarksville, where he enjoyed a rural lifestyle. He always loved animals and fish, and in his retirement he enjoyed working as a delivery driver for The Fish Place in North Tonawanda. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a NASCAR fan. Surviving in addition to his wife, are seven children, Thelma J. (Bob) Latina of New London, N.C., Valerie V. (David) Dinges of Columbus, Ga., Deborah C. (Charlie) Woods of North Tonawanda, Steven (Nicole) Mikos of Wheatfield, Kelly A. (Joe) Koehler of Buffalo, Donna L. (Joe) Blaszczak-Graham of North Tonawanda and David A. (Vera) Mikos of Tonawanda; many grandchildren, including Stephanie M. Koehler, whom he raised like a daughter; many greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Winebark of Indiana, Pa., Ruth (Blane) Van Horn of Smicksburg, Pa. and Martha Rickard of Indiana, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert P. Waltz; a brother, Lloyd Waltz; and a son-in-law, Charlie Woods. Friends will be received from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday (Aug. 6, 2018) at the Casey, Halwig& Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
