Court upholds Steuben County murder conviction

A New York State Appellate Court has upheld the murder conviction of a Steuben County man. The ruling was handed down Friday against Ryan J. Morrow, 25, of Corning. Morrow was sentenced to 20 years to life in the slaying of Phillip J. Lough, 28, of Bath. Lough's body was found inside a kitchen cupboard at a vacant home at 222 Pine Street in Corning on Nov. 2, 2013. In his appeal, attorney's for Morrow "contended that the County Court erred in refusing to suppress statements that he made to police investigators as involuntarily made." The court replied "We reject that contention. The court added that the sentence was not "unduly harsh or severe."
Morrow is currently being housed at the Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus, NY. His first parole hearing will be held in July, 2033.
