An Olean man will turn grey in prison, despite a slight victory in court. Thirty-two year Gary N. Maull is serving a 33 year to life prison sentence in Attica for killing a man in 2014. Maull was convicted of several counts, to include the murder of Otis Lamont Parks, aka Lamont Clemons.
When you face a lifetime at Attica Correctional, you roll the dice and appeal. Maull did...and received a minor victory, which won't alter the overall sentence. An Appellate Court, in a four page decision, said that "
It is hereby ORDERED that the judgment so appealed from is unanimously
modified on the law by directing that the sentence imposed on count five of the
indictment shall run concurrently with the sentence imposed on count two of the
indictment, and as modified the judgment is affirmed."
Maull will have his first parole hearing in 2047, when he is 61.
