SCIO - Fire destroyed a two vehicle garage and also caused minor damage to a Scio home this morning. The Scio Fire Department was called out at 7:22 a.m. to 4434 County Road 10. First Assistant Fire Chief Rob Harms said smoke and flames were visible when volunteers arrived. Harms said he brought in tankers from Wellsville and Belmont. The 'new Wellsville-3' had it's first call...Harms said the engine was used to fill tankers at a pond near the fire scene. The Assistant Chief said the blaze was contained in about 20 minutes. Harms said "it was a good save on the house." There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
At 10:30 a.m., there was a flare up and Scio was called back to the scene. The Friendship Fire Department covered the Scio district during the initial alarm.
