Over my 24 years in local law enforcement I have grown to
know Walter (Walt) Mackney. Whether it was as a uniformed Trooper or leading
the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task (STRDF), I have always found Walt to be
knowledgeable on law enforcement issues. The STRDF is a task force comprised of
officers from multiple area police agencies working together to fight the
rising drug epidemic throughout the Southern Tier. Walt gained valuable
experience in inter-agency cooperation and in personnel supervision as a NYSP
Senior Investigator assigned to STRDF. Outlined in his campaign and crucial to
providing effective and reliable law enforcement, Walt promotes inter-agency
cooperation, as agencies work together in an effort to achieve their
objectives. In addition, Walt stands behind fiscal accountability. As a former
County Legislator and a taxpayer, we all know this is important. Do more with
less seems to be trend. I wish Walt well in the upcoming election and know that
if he is elected, he will do a great job serving the citizens of Allegany
County.
