EpiPen shortage update

To combat the shortage of the EpiPen 0.3 mg Auto-Injectors Pfizer and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are offering solutions to assure the safety of those needing to use the medication.
FDA and Pfizer are extending the expiration date of certain lots of the EpiPen 0.3 mg Auto-Injectors. Pfizer believes extending the expiration dates of the medication will help to, “temporarily address the patients’ access to and use of EpiPen 0.3 mg Auto-Injectors particularly during the back-to-school season.”
In an Aug. 21, 2018 press release, Pfizer warned the extension dates do not apply to EpiPen Jr 0.15 mg Auto-Injectors and its authorized generic version.
For batches of EpiPen 0.3 mg Auto-Injectors expiring between April and December 2018 Pfizer has published new expiration dates as listed in the link below. https://on.pfizer.com/2LhYp4o.
Pfizer expects the availability of the EpiPen 0.3 mg Auto-Injectors to stabilize during the fourth quarter of 2018."
