Former Long Vue motel sold at tax sale

The storied Long Vue motel, located on State Route 417W at the Wellsville/Scio line, has been sold at the county tax sale for $14,000 (plus outstanding taxes). The successful bidder was Jody Peterson of Olean. The motel had a colorful past as both a place of lodging and an entertainment and dining venue. At its business peak, the Long Vue contained 20 units...more recently that served as apartments. The former owner was listed as 5081 Bolivar Road SBL, LLC of Chevy Chase, Maryland.  The property, which sits on 2.4 acres, was assessed at $475,000.

Tax Sale Bid

County Treasurer Terri Ross requested a resolution accepting the following leftover tax sale bid received from Jody Peterson:

Sale Number: 16-1112; Municipality: Scio; Property assessed to: 5081 Bolivar Road SBL, LLC,

Bolivar Road; 2.40 acres; TMP #: 237.-1-26.3; Class Code – 415 – Motel; Assessment: $475,000; 2018 Tax: $24,737.19; Bid Amount: $14,000.00

Ms. Ross stated they have received all of the funds and are ready to move this forward to the full Board for approval. Legislator Fanton asked if the apartments were also included. Ms. Ross stated everything on the 2.40 acres was included in the sale for the bid of $14,000, current year taxes of $24,737.19, and recording fees of $308. This request was approved on a motion made by Legislator Curran, seconded by Legislator Healy, and carried. Prepare Resolution
