Cattaraugus County man receives probation for impaired crash that kills his mother

A Cattaraugus County man will serve probation after he crashed his vehicle 19 months ago, killing his mother. 31-year-old Andrew Armbruster of East Otto pleaded guilty to felony attempted reckless endangerment and was sentenced on Monday to five years probation. He was originally charged with manslaughter. Prosecutors said Armbruster was under the influence of narcotics and distracted by his cell phone in January 2017 when he crossed an intersection and was struck by a tractor trailer. The crash killed Grace Armbruster.
