Doris K. Reed, 83, of Genesee, PA, died Monday, April 9,
2018 in her home.
Born August 16, 1934, in Genesee, she was the daughter of
Howard G. and Dorothea L. McConeghy Kenyon.
On March 21, 1953, in Genesee, she married Donald R. Reed,
who predeceased her on March 1, 1981.
A graduate of Genesee High School and Elmira Business
Institute, she and her husband owned and operated Kenyon’s Store in
Genesee. She was employed by Reed’s
Market in Genesee for many years.
Doris was a member of the Genesee United Methodist Church,
United Methodist Women, and was active in Potter County unit of the American
Cancer Society for many years.
Surviving are: four
children, Brian (Deb) Reed of Andover, NY, Allan (Vonda) Reed of Mansfield, PA,
Donald (Karen) Reed, Jr. of Genesee, and Verena (John) Monagle of Juneau, AK;
14 grandchildren; 25 great-
grandchildren; a sister, Verena Ruddnick
of Zephyrhills, FL; a brother, Robert
(Sandra) Kenyon of Genesee; nieces and
nephews.
Friends may call Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM
at the Genesee United Methodist Church, where a Memorial Service will be held
on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Rob
Anderson, and her grandson, Rev. Jason Reed, will co-officiate. Burial will be in Genesee Cemetery.
