Conesus: Livingston
County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Wellsville resident
on drug related charges after a call to check the welfare of a female driver.
On February 25, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Sheriff deputies
were dispatched to West Swamp Road in the Town of Conesus to check on a car
stopped on the side of the road with a driver who appeared to be unconscious
behind the wheel. The caller was an off-duty police officer who attempted to
wake the driver and render assistance.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found the driver, 20-year-old
Kami B. White, starting to regain consciousness. Deputy Connor Sanford began a DWAI
investigation as it was believed that White was under the influence of
drugs. Deputies also allegedly discovered
empty bags with suspected drug residue in them.
After the roadside investigation, White was taken into custody for
Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
White was then transported to the Sheriff's Office
Headquarters in Geneseo. Once there, Deputy Brandan Flickner, who is a
Certified Drug Recognition Expert, conducted a drug evaluation. It was Deputy
Flickner's expert opinion that White was under the influence of a central
nervous system stimulant and a narcotic analgesic and could not operate a
vehicle in a safe manner.
White was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the
Livingston County Jail for processing. White will return to court to answer to
the charges at a later date.
Also assisting at the scene was Deputy Heath Mattingly.
