Belmont - James Robert Wilcox of Belmont passed away on
Monday, February 26, 2018 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. He was born
on May 16, 1947 in Cuba, a son of the late Charles and Arlene Vanocker Wilcox.
In 1965 he married the love of his life Linda Deniston.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving
from 1963 to 1965.
James worked in several different lines of work over his
lifetime. He was a farmer, welder, machinist, over the road truck driver and
heavy equipment operator. He was a dog breeder of black and tans. He also

ribbons and trophies. He also raised and bred Morgan horses as well has riding,
driving and training all ages of horses. Jim loved animals and they loved him.
He loved traditional country music with George Jones and Hank Williams Sr.
being his favorites. To say he enjoyed classic westerns would be an
understatement; he was a cowboy…. to say the least. Jim enjoyed watching
professional boxing and could make us smile with his “ringside remarks”.
James and Linda raised five children, they were raised
knowing respect and love for their family, all humans and animals. James worked
hard his entire life to give his family what they wanted, he loved his family
with all his heart. He enjoyed teaching his sons how to hunt and enjoy nature
