...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...
The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Western and portions of Central New York.
* Through this afternoon.
* Widespread showers and thunderstorms will move across the region
this morning. A stalled boundary from near Buffalo to the Finger
Lakes may act as a focus for locally very heavy rainfall and
numerous storms training over the same locations, which may
result in flash flooding. The flash flood threat will diminish
from west to east this afternoon.
* Urban areas, small streams, and areas in steep terrain will be
at the highest risk for flash flooding through Thursday
morning.
