Georgia man accused of drug crimes in Allegany County


Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that on June 14th, 2017 following a lengthy investigation regarding illegal narcotics possession and sales in the Town of Hume, Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Joseph J. Campbell, age 31 of Douglasville GA, on an Allegany County Grand Jury Indictment Warrant. 
Campbell was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, all felonies.
The arrest stems from two separate incidents in which Campbell allegedly sold illegal narcotics to an agent of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit in the Town of Hume.
Campbell was located in Georgia and transported back to Allegany County by Prisoner Transport Services where he was processed and transported to Allegany County Court. Campbell was arraigned and remanded to the Allegany County Jail on $10,000.00 Cash Bail or $20,000.00 Insurance Company Bond and is to reappear in Allegany County Court on June 20th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. for additional court action.
