WELLSVILLE, NY – Allegany Arc, a human services provider
that provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental
disabilities and their families, is pleased to announce the promotion of
Heather Perkins to Vice President of Program Services. In her new position,
Heather will oversee Allegany Arc’s Independent Living facilities, crisis work
and behavior plan development, as well as the agency’s Day Habilitation, Family
Care and Residential Programs.
Heather began her career at Allegany Arc in 2003 as a
Medicaid Service Coordinator. She was then promoted to Behavior Technician in
2006, Behavior Specialist in 2009 and Director for Behavioral Services in 2015.
Heather has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Master’s degree in Psychology
and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Heather is actively involved with several Allegany Arc
committees including Community 5K Run/Walk (chair), Sexuality Education
(chair), Wellness, and Remembrance. Outside of Allegany Arc, Heather is a
member of the Wellsville Rotary Club, Allegany County Critical Incident Stress
Team for First Responders, coaches various youth sports and is a member of Chi
Sigma Lota.
