Mrs. Baker was born in Wellsville on September 17, 1962 to Robert A. and Hazel M. (Lehman) Cornell. Corinna graduated from Andover Central School in 1980. On July 7, 2012, she married Robert L. “Rob” Baker, who survives, in an outdoor ceremony at her mother’s home.
Corinna worked at the Alfred Sub and Pizza Shop for more than 20 years. Prior to that, she worked at Transitair-TTA Systems in Hornell and Saxon Glass in Alfred.
Along with her husband of 12 years and her mother, Corinna is survived by two sons, Curtis (Terry Flint) Wagner of Alfred Station and Devin Baker of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Amanda (Arron) Ross of Addison and Domonique Baker of Florida; three siblings, Robert A. (Cynthia L.) Cornell, Jr., Michelle (Robert) Kurtz, and Donna Cornell, all of Andover; one grandchild, Colton Ross; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Baker and Edward Baker; and a sister-in-law, Hope Williams.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erva Baker and Marilyn Baker.
Described as “the most amazing woman you would ever meet”, Corinna loved everyone with great compassion. She loved to crochet blankets for babies as gifts for family, friends, and even as donations, when needed. She was a kind and loving woman, who was open and honest with her emotions.
Corinna married into a fitting name as she was an amazing baker. Her family raved over her Christmas cookies, peanut butter fudge, monkey bread and her heavenly homemade cheesecake. Her baking drew the family together. On many occasions she would lead the way to their family camp for some great food, family fun and a wonderful time playing board games.
For some alone time with her husband Rob, they would hop in the car for destinations unknown. One such trip found them in Cleveland at the Rock & roll Hall of Fame or another, at Canton’s Pro Football Hall of Fame. And to all of you Buffalo Bills fans, Corinna was a die-hard Kansas City Chief’s enthusiast.
There will be no prior visitation. A celebration of Life will be held at the family camp at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.
Memorial contributions in Corinna’s name may be made to Alfred Ambulance, Box 582, Alfred NY 14802.
