Complete Obituary: W. Hervey HAND, 83, of Harrison Valley, PA

W. Hervey HAND, 83, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Monday, December 23, 2024 in his home.  Born May 12, 1941, in Harrison Valley, he was the son of Derward and Gladys Garner Hand.  On July 4, 1961, in Potter Brook, he married the former Patricia A. Dean, who predeceased him on October 7, 2021.  A 1960 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1960 – 1963.  He was employed by Corning, Inc. for 32 years.  Hervey was a member of Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 in Ulysses, Elkland Moose, and was active in the Harrison Valley Softball League.  Surviving are: four children, Denise (Gordon) Lowry of Washington, PA, William Hervey (Wendy) Hand II of Campbell, NY, Candi Hand of Coudersport, and Kiley (Anita) Hand of Loudonville, NY; five grandchildren, Trisha (Dusty) Brimmer, Cory Johnson, Lily Hand, Owen Hand, and John Lowry; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Brimmer, Cory Johnson, Remington Brimmer, and Ensley Brimmer; a brother, Frank (Evelyne) Hand of Louisville, KY; nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by five sisters, Linda Mae Lewis, Onalee VanTreese, Audrey L. Lampman, Fay M. Meise, and Kay Whitsell.  Friends may call at the Harrison Valley Christian & Missionary Alliance Church on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.  Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.  Memorials may be made to Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 Auxiliary, P.O.
