She was born in Hornell, NY the daughter of Erroll “Dean” Spencer and Molly Gregorius Spencer, and was a graduate of Canaseraga Central School. She was a member of the Canaseraga American Legion Auxilliary and a communicant of St Marys Catholic Church in Canaseraga. She had worked for Forbes Products and for the Hornell Gardens. Dena loved dogs and was a talented water color artist, a huge Cleveland Brown fan, but will be most remembered for her incredibly quick wit and humor.
She was predeceased by her parents and 2 brothers Daryll and Lee Spencer.
She is survived by her life partner Crystal Kenyon of Canaseraga, her 2 brothers Charles (Holley) Spencer of Canaseraga, Aaron (Christine) Spencer of Somers, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Friday (April 12, 2024) from 5-7pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell. A Mass will be celebrated at the St Marys Catholic Cemetery on Saturday (April 13, 2024) at 11:00am with Father John Cullen as celebrant. Burial will be at St Marys Catholic Cemetery in Canaseraga.
