Friendship Church to Host
Clothing Giveaway, Colombia Missions Luncheon
A
Friendship church has scheduled a clothing giveaway and a free Colombia
missions luncheon for May.
The
United Church of Friendship will host a gently-used clothing giveaway from 10AM
to 6PM Thursday, May 9; 10AM to 4PM Friday, May 10; and 10AM to 2PM Saturday,
May 11.
Donated
clothing also is being accepted by dropping it off in plastic bags at the St.
Pauly clothing box, located in the back of the church parking lot at 31 East
Main Street, day or night.

The
church also hosts a 24/7 Blessings Box which contains food and small household
items for pickup by those in need, along with accepting donations.
It
is located at the top of the handicapped ramp at the parking lot entrance of
the church.
On
Wednesday, May 8, the church will host a free noon community missions luncheon
at The Carter House, 37 East Main Street.
The
second Monday of the month gathering will feature Matthew (Mateo) Hess, who will discuss how a Christian school,
which was started over 30 years ago by his father-in-law pastor in Colombia,
with only 34 pupils, ministers in an impoverished area of Bogota.
Hess, a former Rochester
school teacher, who now assists his wife, Lety, in leading the nearly
600-student Christian facility.
