Canisteo man faces several serious felonies

On Tuesday April 16, 2024 the Canisteo Village Police arrested Eric D. Hosmer, 55, of South Woods Road in the Town of Canisteo. He was charged with felony second-degree assault, felony first-degree burglary, felony second-degree strangulation and felony third degree criminal mischief. According to police, the arrest stems from a disturbance Monday evening on Maple Street in Canisteo. Hosmer left before police arrived. The victim had sustained several injuries and continues to recover at St. James Hospital in Hornell. Hosmer was located early today on a roadway near his residence. He was processed, taken to Steuben Jail where an arraignment is pending. State Troopers and deputies assisted.
