Rick Maxwell, 69 of South Main Street, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.
Rick was born in Buffalo, NY the son of Diane Marie Shaw and spent most of his life in the Buffalo area. He moved his family to Belfast 14 years ago. Rick was a proud Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era from 1972-1976, and later served for 20+ years in the National Guard where he earned the nickname “MadMax.” He worked for Dibble True Value Hardware and ran Pro-Max Contracting as a self-employed contractor.
Rick is predeceased by his mother.
He is survived by his wife Karoline Greiner Maxwell, 2 daughters Angelica Lee Maxwell of North Carolina, Carrie Anne Maxwell of Belfast, his son Joshua Lee Maxwell of Cayuga County, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue in Angelica, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm. Burial will be at the Bath National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
