Obituary: David L. Streb, 73, Cuba

David L. Streb "Avid Outdoorsman & Mentor"

CUBA - David L. Streb, 73, of 455 Wolf Run Road, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. David was born on March 20, 1947 in Rochester and was a son of James F. and Rita Hamel Streb. On Oct. 15, 1966 in Rochester, he married his wife of 54 years, Jacklyn A. Wiedrich, who survives. David was a 1965 graduate of East High School in Rochester. He began working for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier and mail processing supervisor in Rochester. David served in the US Army from May 8, 1967 to April 16, 1969. After his service, he worked for the US Postal Service as a Post Master in Scottsville, Spencerport, and Olean until 1982. David then went to work as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Quaker Boy, until his retirement in 2015. David was a life member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid sportsmen, who loved to hunt and be outdoors. David also loved playing poker/any card game and playing pool. Along with his wife, Jacklyn A. Streb, David is survived by; 2 brothers, Thomas Streb of West Bloomfield and Gerald (Tina Mullen) Streb of Rochester; 2 sisters, Jeanette (Richard) Sattora of Rush and Mary Louise Streb of Rochester; a brother-in-law, Elmer Adkins; 2 nieces, Emily (Chris Russo) Streb of Laconia, NH and Sarah (Niall) Rolland of Scotland; 3 nephews, Mark (Corinne) Adkins of Benson, AZ, Jeff (Lisa) Sattora of Liverpool, and Chris (Sarah) Sattora of Clayton, NC; a very special grand niece, Reya Adkins; a godson, Sean Stagles of Rochester; and special extended family, Danny Owens of the US Army Hawaii, Tayler Rogers of Portville, Tony, Nicole, & Hunter Williams of Cuba, Mark and Mary Lee Wenke of Olean, and Ray & Gail Feuchter of Portville. David was predeceased by his parents and a sister Susanne Adkins. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date and time to be announced.
