Obituary: Roberta L. Dunn, 78, Olean



OLEAN - Roberta L. Dunn, of 1570 East River Road, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Roberta was born on July 15, 1942 in Canonsburg, PA and was a daughter of Robert Lee and Dorothy I Ramsey Porter. On May 10, 1991, she married her loving husband, James H. Dunn, who survives. Roberta was a 1961 graduate of Scio Central School. She worked as a Senior Account Typist for Cattaraugus County in Olean for over 30 years, retiring on December 26, 1997. Roberta and her husband, James, owned and operated their business "Tolewood," where they hand made wood furniture. Roberta enjoyed the house boat, that James built, their greenhouse, and selling the furniture that they made at the farmer's market. She also enjoyed salmon fishing, raising Bassett Hounds, working in her water garden, socializing, and vacationing in Nags Head, NC. Roberta formerly bowled on a bowling league. She loved her dog "Willie." Along with her loving husband, James, she is survived by; 6 children, Rick L. (June) Giles of Allegany, Phillip D. Middaugh of Almond, Vicki L. (Matt) Gray of Olean, Crist D. Middaugh of Honduras, Suzanne R. (John) Derx of Olean and Florida, and Robert A. Middaugh of Olean; 2 stepchildren, James R. Dunn and Lorena E. (Stanley) Lucynski both of St. Petersburg, FL; 12 grandchildren, Bryant, Brett, Ricky Jr., Kristy, Nicole, Michelle, Kyle, James, Bobby, Jennifer, Andy, and Brian; 4 step grandchildren, Mary, Kori, James, and Bonnie; many great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Dorothy I. Kingdon of Perry, Franklin R. Porter of Olean, and Katherine J. Ward of Scio; and many nieces and nephews. Roberta was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Patricia Bates. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on February 9, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
