Obituary: Charity Lynne Nolan, 35, of St. Louis, formerly of Port Allegany

Charity Lynne Nolan      “beloved daughter, sister, and aunt” 

ST. LOUIS, Missouri---Charity Lynne Nolan, 35, of St. Louis, formerly of Port Allegany, Pa., passed away unexpectedly in St. Louis on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

     Born on Monday, June 17, 1985 in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Rod D. Nolan and Connie Hagg Nolan. 

     Charity was a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 2003 and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford with a Bachelor’s Degree.  She also graduated from Maryville University in St. Louis where she received her Master’s Degree as a nurse practitioner.

     She was employed at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in St. Louis and by other area facilities in the St. Louis area. 

     Charity was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, having loved heckling her dad when her team and the Cincinnati Reds played each other.  She was a very thoughtful and caring person.  She loved animals.

   Left to cherish her memory are her father and stepmother, Rod and Lyn Nolan of Shinglehouse; four siblings, Nicole L. McNeal of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Jordan M. Nolan, Carter A. Nolan, and Grant T. Nolan, all of Shinglehouse; a niece, Lydia McNeal; two nephews, William McNeal and Bohannon Nolan; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     Charity was predeceased by her mother, Connie Thrash; her stepfather, John Thrash; her paternal grandparents, Albert and Betty Nolan; and her maternal grandparents, Marlin and Betty Hagg.

     Family and friends may call from 10 am to 12 noon on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Bell Run Union Church, 904  Taylor Brook Road, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Chad E. Shaffer, officiating.  Burial will be in Bell Run Cemetery, Shinglehouse.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bell Run Union Church, 904 Taylor Brook Road, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to a SPCA of the donor’s choice.

     Charity’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
