For immediate release
ACCORD Head Start was notified by the Allegany County
Department of Health that a staff member from our Cuba location has tested
positive for COVID-19. The Cuba Center will provide limited remote services only
through at least December 17 and notify enrolled families with any changes. It is
important to note the casual contact with a positive person does not
necessarily make you a direct contact that would require quarantine. Whether or
not you are a direct contact requiring quarantine depends on several factors
including the use of face coverings, social distancing, and the duration of
contact. Contact tracing has been completed at this time.
We will maintain our
extensive cleaning and disinfecting procedures at each location even during
remote sessions. We will evaluate our return to in person services on a weekly
basis and will notify families once a decision has been made.
ACCORD’s food distribution and holiday assistance will
continue as scheduled. Assistance with emergency food, housing and other
essential needs is available. Please visit www.accordcorp.org
or check out our Facebook page for details.
