Potter County man charged with assault by vehicle

Galeton Borough Police late Saturday night arrested James Douglas Akeley, 31, of Galeton. He was charged with felony aggravated assault by vehicle, making terroristic threats, simple assault and two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct. He was arraigned in District Court at 11:15 p.m. Saturday. When he couldn't post $25,000 cash bail, he was remanded to jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 22 at 9:30 a.m.
