Letter supporting Sheriff Whitney: "Small town politics can ruin great friendships"

Small town politics can ruin great friendships. So often it comes down to not getting your own way. When voting on September 13th, please remember to vote for the facts. The sheriff’s office is responsible for maintaining the jail, the courthouse and civil. That is the sheriff’s responsibility and that is what Rick Whitney has done. The sheriff’s office does not have a road patrol. This would only increase taxes and taxpayers wouldn’t like that.  The state police have a road patrol and the manpower to provide it. In a perfect world every agency would have everything they wanted and there still would be those who are not happy. Unfortunately that is politics.  The sheriff’s opponent would like you to believe that if he is elected, he could change all of this. In fact, these changes would not be up to him, but your elected officials and you, the taxpayer. Don’t change something that is working well. Keep Rick Whitney as out sheriff. He is doing his job, contrary to what his opponent and his “new friends” would like you to believe.
