The Allegany County Historical Society is holding its third annual History Awareness week at the David Howe Library the last week in September (9/24-9/30).
If anyone has any memorabilia/artifacts they would like to have displayed, please contact Linda Fanton at 585-593-5683 and leave a message with your name and phone number for a call back.
They are particularly concentrating on the WWI and WWII era. They will be displaying some items from that and other time periods, including the 1943 Army/Navy “E” award for excellence in Production for the Army & Navy during the WWI & WWII. All items will be kept safe during the history week - there will be security on duty at the library to ensure nothing is missing or abused.
