State Police Investigators in Steuben seek public assistance

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Bath barracks is requesting the public’s assistance with an active investigation.  During the early morning hours of August 15, 2018, a group of suspects forced entry into a residence in what appeared to be a botched burglary/home invasion in the village of Savona. The suspects assaulted the homeowner but fled the residence on foot after being confronted by a female occupant in the home. The residence is believed to have been specifically targeted by the suspects and there is no indication of any threat or danger to the general public.  Anyone with information is urged to contact the New York State Police at SP Bath at 607-776-2136.
