JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Close to 100 workers who work for, and print, the Elmira Star-Gazette, The Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, and the Ithaca Journal, are being laid off.
Gannet, which publishes the papers, is closing down its 12-year-old, $50 million printing facility in Johnson City this summer and will now print the papers in Rochester.
Two employees at the College Ave. location in Elmira, one employee in Ithaca, along with 93 employees at the Johnson City plant will be laid off during a 14-day period starting June 16.
