GENESEO: Sheriff
Thomas J. Dougherty advises of a death investigation at the Livingston County
Jail. In the early morning hours on November 3rd an arrestee was brought into
the booking area of the Livingston County Jail on the charges of Driving While
Ability Impaired by Drugs, as well as Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic
Instrument. The arrestee was held in
pre-arraignment detention to be arraigned later in the daytime hours on
November 3rd.
The detainee was observed early this morning in his booking
cell unresponsive and not breathing.
Deputies attempted life saving measures with Livingston County EMS but
their efforts were unsuccessful.
The death is under investigation but no foul play is
suspected. The State Commission of
Corrections was notified and per policy will also conduct an investigation.
