Hornell women get busted on heroin charge in I-390

INTERSTATE 390: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of two Hornell residents on drug charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 390. On November 14, 2017 Deputy Shawn Whitford was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office “Operation Safe Interstate” initiative and stopped a vehicle on the Interstate for a vehicle and traffic law violation.  During the course of the traffic stop, the Deputy Sheriff discovered alleged evidence that the occupants were in possession of drugs.
The driver of the vehicle, 38-year-old Tanya M. Hoad, was allegedly found to be in possession of 27 bags of heroin. The passenger in the vehicle, 24-year-old Rosemarie J. Brown, was allegedly found to be in possession of 2 bags of heroin.
Hoad and Brown were both turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Hoad and Brown were later arraigned in the Town of Geneseo Court before Justice Kathleen Houston. The Judge remanded Hoad to the custody of the Sheriff on $250 cash bail or $500 bond and remanded Brown to the custody of the Sheriff on $750 cash bail or $1,500 bond.
Deputy Connor Sanford and Deputy Brandan Flickner assisted with the investigation and Officer Katelyn Sanders from the Geneseo Police Department assisted with a search of the females.
