Obituary: David R. Pierce, 80, Arkport

Arkport - David R. Pierce, 80, of County Road 14, passed away Friday (November 17, 2017) at Noyes Memorial Hospital.
 Born in South Dansville, November 11, 1937, the son of Ralph and Evelyn (Woodard) Pierce, he was a lifelong area resident, and had served in the US Navy. In 1958 he married Helen M. (Askins) Pierce, who predeceased him on January of this year. He was a retired welder from the NYSDOT in Hornell, and was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union #33. David enjoyed hunting, farming, welding, going to the Casino, but most of all he loved his grandkids.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Helen M. Askins Pierce, and his sister Beverly Perry.
He is survived by his 3 sons Michael Pierce of Hornell, Marty Pierce of Arkport, Thomas Pierce of Arkport, his grandchildren Cody Pierce, Kristen Pierce, Sarah Pierce, Kyle Pierce, Jason Pierce, Breann Pierce, and Aylah Morris, 2 great grandchildren, his sister Sandra (Charles) Stevens of Almond, his brother Roger (Pat) Pierce of Sodus, his brother in law George (Susan) Askins of Canisteo, and nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 1-3 & 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery.
