HORNELL, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - An inmate is back in custody after briefly trying to escape on Thursday morning.
Hornell Police said they were called to the city courthouse just before 11 a.m. after receiving reports that 24-year-old Jasun Shepherd was trying to escape. Officials said Shepherd took off while waiting for a jail transport van outside the court.
Police located Shepherd near the Church Street Bridge and Canacadea Creek and took him back into custody. More...
