Rushford --- Wesley Richard Austin of Rushford died Friday,
June 9, 2017 in his home on the family farm, under the care of hospice, and was
able to pass in the home where he began life. He was born on January 18, 1926
in Rushford, a son of the late Herbert and Bertha Owens Austin. On June 14,
1952 he married Norma Leslie Springer who survives.
Wesley was the youngest of three children and spent his life
working on Brookside road. He was a graduate of Rushford Central School and
valedictorian of this class. After he married Norma, he moved his bride into
the home he built for her, on the farm, moving to the main residence when his
parents passed.
Wesley was a dairy farmer, raised sheep and chickens and
also produced maple syrup.
Surviving in addition to his wife are their children,
Cynthia (Charles) McCullough, Michael (Linda) Austin, his grandchildren, Brenda
(Justin) Eddy, Wesley (Andrea) Austin Jr., Julie (Chris) Bastian, Monica (Tom
Kicior) McCullough, his great-grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Claxton,
Emily Ellis, Emily Bastian, his nieces, Becky (Lynn) Armison, Barbara Cooley, a
daughter-in-law, Frieda Austin, four sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Kevin) Quealy,
Ollie Sieber, Kathy (Tom) Worthington, Diann Springer and a brother-in-law,
Jack Springer.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son,
James Austin, a sister Ernestine Whybrew and a brother, Edward Austin.
Family and friends may gather from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday,
June 12, 2017 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street,
Fillmore where a funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. Bob Schooley, pastor
of the Centerville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in
Freedom Cemetery, Freedom.
