The New York State Police is investigating a serious
personal injury accident involving one of their members that occurred on I-86
westbound in the Town of Campbell. On
05/17/17 at approximately 4:38 p.m., Trooper Craig S. Foglia, SP Painted Post, had
conducted a traffic stop and was sitting in his vehicle when he was struck from
behind by a Ford F-150 driven by Kenneth Aukett of Westmont, NJ. Trooper Foglia’s patrol car then struck the
vehicle which he had stopped. Mr. Aukett
was transported to Robert Packard Hospital in Sayre, PA with non-life
threatening injuries. Trooper Foglia was
transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY with serious
injuries. The cause of the accident is
currently under investigation.
