Obituary: Barbara M. Andrews, 79, Machias/ & Wellsville native

MACHIAS — Barbara M. Andrews, 79, of Union Street, Machias, passed away Sunday (May 21, 2017) at the Pines of Machias after a long illness.
She was born May 4, 1938 in Wellsville, a daughter of Howard J. and Florence D. (Ritter) Davidson. She attended Arcade Schools. On Aug. 10, 1956 in Killeen, Texas, she married H. Peter Andrews, who survives.
Mrs. Andrews worked for Motorola in Arcade and Elma where she was an inspector for over 20 years. She was a student of the Bible at the Faith Bible Theological Seminary of Milton, Fla. and was a member of the First Christian Church of Machias. Mrs. Andrews was able to counsel and guide many young women through her wisdom. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and especially treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son, Peter J. (Brenda) Andrews of Machias; three grandsons, Joshua Andrews, Josiah Andrews and Jonathan Andrews; a granddaughter, Hunter Andrews; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, James H. Davidson of Freedom, George H. Davidson of Freedom, and Gerald Davidson of Sandusky; a sister, Luann Davidson of Freedom;  and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son, Daniel Andrews, and a sister, Peggy Moore.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (May 26, 2017) at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 30, 2017) at the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Ross Thompson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Machias.
