Variety of nonprofits gain support from CRCF donor-designated funds

OLEAN, N.Y. — Three donor-designated funds at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation recently made possible $2,855 in grants to four organizations.
The Kothari Family Endowment Fund, which also provides scholarships to students entering health care fields of study, made possible a $1,000 grant to the Olean General Hospital Foundation and a $250 grant to the Olean Food Pantry.
Drs. Ashok and Yogi Kothari of Allegany established this endowment in 2007.
Cancer Services of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties received $605 from the Beth Todd Memorial Fund.
Beth’s husband, Greg Todd, established the fund at the foundation in 2013 in memory of his wife who had battled cancer for 13 years. Since its establishment, the fund has supported area cancer patients in memory of the Portville native.
The Laine Family Fund also made possible a $1,000 grant to Pan Harmonia, a chamber music series in Asheville, NC that offers outreach and musical education in addition to a concert series.
Peter Laine, former executive vice president of Cutco and Olean resident, established the fund. Laine served and supported many local nonprofits in Olean, co-chairing several United Way of Cattaraugus County campaigns and serving on the board of Olean General Hospital and the Olean YMCA.
Mr. Laine retired to Asheville in 2006. He received the Friends of the Foundation award, CRCF’s highest recognition in 2013.

Donations can be made to any of these funds at CRCF, 301 North Union St., Suite 203, or online at cattfoundation.org.
