On Wednesday at 10:08 p.m., Troopers responded to a report of a possible electrocution at 4800B Ingraham Road in the Town of Amity. Investigation revealed that a backhoe had struck an overhead utility line, causing a utility pole to break and descend. The primary distribution line subsequently fell on 26-year-old, Derek Roeske of Wellsville, who had been standing nearby, assisting the backhoe operator. Amity ambulance responded to the scene and transported Roeske to Jones Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
