FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
May 5, 2017
Angelica Community Radio, Allegany County’s non-profit,
all-volunteer radio station, is proud to sponsor the first annual
Allegany-Steuben Citizens Fair, which takes place Thursday, May 25th at the
Hornell Arts Center in the Broadway Mall, Hornell.
The Citizens Fair brings together representatives from local
agencies and institutions across the two counties for a festive,
family-friendly open house between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. There will be food, door prizes, and fun
stuff for kids to do. The Citizens Fair is free and open to the public.
Local experts from the Southern Tier Library System, Loyola
Recovery Foundation, the AIM Center for Independent Living, Corning-Painted
Post School District and other area organizations will explain how proposed
budget cuts could affect our children, our families, seniors, schools, health
care, and more. They’ll speak about how budget changes might affect local agencies
and the people served by their programs, as well as effects on employment and
the local economy.
These organizations play an important part in the fabric of
our lives in Allegany and Steuben counties. Meet the professionals who deliver
services our families rely on. Bring
your questions and they’ll do their best to provide answers.
As a special treat, we’ve arranged for live acoustic music
by local singer-songwriter Emma Tyme between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
